School Council

School Council are the voice of the children. We are elected by our peers and are made up of 4 children (2 boys and 2 girls) from Years 3-6.

We represent the children and raise issues with the Head Teacher and Governors. School council have regular meetings, on a Thursday, with the Head Teacher. Before this meeting, the Chair, Vice-chair and Secretary meet with the Head Teacher to plan the agenda for the main meeting.

Members of School Council are approachable, good listeners, organised, assertive and fair.

To be an effective School Council we:

  • Listen to all children
  • Be open to the ideas of others (even if you do not agree with them)
  • Respect each other
  • Work as a team
  • Feedback to children and the Head Teacher
  • Make things happen

At William Davies we have a very strong and hard-working school council which I feel proud to be Chair of.
